Franklin County Health Department COVID-19 Case Follow-up
Franklin County Health Department COVID-19 Case Follow-up

Thursday, March 19, 2020

Franklin County Health Department has posted a follow-up to their earlier post concerning a presumptive positive case of COVID-19 in Franklin County. That press release is attached to this post.

Although we are on Spring Break we are affected by these actions. There will not be any practices or school sponsored gatherings between now and March 30. As it is obvious things change quickly, I will avoid making statements concerning future events and circumstances. While I was participating in a webinar with state officials Franklin County released the press release about the positive case. That new information changed the situation to some degree. Things change quickly, and my goal is always to "First do no Harm." I always strive to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.

At this point during our Spring Break there will not be any sports practices or group events held. This will also be the case during the County Imposed School Closing until March 30; however, I will share an update on the the website and facebook page on Friday, March 20 as well as send out a phone call to district families and staff with an update and review of the situation as it is on Friday, March 20.

Please follow the guidelines on the Franklin County website well as the Kansas Department of Health and Environment site.
