The Kindergarten students of 2020-21

We would like to give a big thank you to Modern Woodmen and Dale Pearson for the delicious cookies!

Dakota Pendleton is the daughter of Tonya Lankard and Osby Pendleton. During Dakota’s time here at Central Heights High School she was an active member of FFA, FCCLA, and a member of the Volleyball and Softball teams. After graduation, Dakota plans to attend Fort Scott Community College to study cosmetology starting in July. Dakota’s fondest memory at Central Heights will be counting down the days to get out! Her advice to the underclassmen would be, “Do your work! Also, I promise high-school won’t be the best years of your life, no matter who tells you that. Things will get better.” Congratulations Dakota! You made it! We are excited for you to start the next chapter of your life.

Kennz McCleary is the daughter of Mark and Pamela McCleary. During her time here at Central Heights High School she was active in Band, Swing Group, FCCLA, Scholar’s Bowl, Student Council, Pep Club, Art Club, Drama Club, Chess Club, D&D Club, and Forensics. Kennz plans to attend Neosho County Community College following graduation to study performing arts. Kennz will always cherish the lifelong memories she has made here at Central Heights and the friendships she has developed over the years. Kennz’s advice to the underclassmen would be, “In the long run, it’s your life and you should make decisions that are going to make YOU happy. Forget what other people think.” Congrats Kennz! We are excited to see what your future holds!

Mrs. Fangman’s 2nd graders had fun practicing their spelling words with shaving cream!

Crais McGurk is the son of Joyce and Daniel McGurk. During his time here at Central Heights High School he was an active member of the Robotics Team, Chess Club, DND Club, and the High School Play. After graduation, Crais plans to attend Emporia State University to major in Computer Science. Some of Crais’s most memorable experiences here at Central Heights have been play practices. The advice Crais would like to give to the underclassmen is, “Don't overload yourself with school activities. Always have time for both homework and your own free time. If you hang out with five smart people, you become the sixth. If you hang out with five idiots, you become the sixth. Choose your groups wisely. It's okay to not know something.” Congratulations Crais! We are looking forward to what you will accomplish in your next chapter!

Justice Austin-Mason is the son of Stephanie Mason and Derek Mason. During his time here at Central Heights High School he has participated in Drama Club, Band, Swing Group, FBLA, Chess Club, Football, Wrestling, and Track. Following graduation, Justice plans to attend Neosho County Community College to study theater. Justice’s most memorable moment here at Central Heights has been performing in All Shook Up during his Junior year. Justice’s advice to the underclassmen would be, “Get out while you still can.” Congratulations Justice! We are excited to see what your future holds!

Cheyanne Kuczmarski is the daughter of Laura and Joe Kuczmarski. During her time here at Central Heights High School she was an active member of FCCLA, Art Club, Swing Group, and Cross Country. After graduation, Cheyanne plans to take a gap year to save money for college. Cheyanne says that her most meaning experience here at Central Heights has been meeting her lifelong friends and growing into the person she is today. Cheyanne’s advice to underclassmen would be, “High School is not that big of a deal. What happens isn't going to matter in a few years so just take care of yourself.” Congratulations Cheyanne! We are proud of your accomplishments and wish you all the best for your future.

The Baseball team held their annual banquet last night where we got to recognize all of our players, and especially our seniors Cass Burroughs, Brady Burson, Hunter Bones, and Cauy Newell. It was great to be able to get together with everyone and share how much these young men have accomplished through the years! Go Vikings!!!!

A message from KSHSAA. Please read and watch!
There is no doubt, we have an official shortage and need the help of those who employ officials to help recruit new officials. In previous years, teachers made up a large number of our officials, that number has dropped dramatically. Coaches used to officiate sports they didn’t serve as a coach in order to give back to students. Schools want to continue to have teams be able to compete, but we need officials in order to have the games.
Please consider showing this video to your students, teachers, parent groups or anyone you feel has the characteristics to be an official. “Without officials it’s JUST RECESS.”
