Class of 2020: Alex Cannady is the son of Rusty and Stephanie Cannady. During his time at Central Heights High School he participated in Cross Country, Basketball, Track & Field, Baseball, FCA, FCCLA, FFA, Band, and Key Club. After graduation Alex plans to attend Kansas State University on a Band Scholarship. Alex will either major in Agronomy, Beef Cattle Ranch Management, or Construction Science Management. Alex has been recognized by Kansas State University as the Most Talented Musician and received a scholarship for that accomplishment. When asked what his most memorable experience at Central Heights was, Alex said that spending last year’s prom with his beautiful girlfriend Cheyenne and winning the 2A State Cross Country meet topped his list. He also referenced celebrating various Cross Country wins with his teammates, family members, and his coach. He will always cherish watching the scores come up at the finish line, singing “We Are The Champions”, and adding to the trophy case. The advice Alex would give to underclassmen is to be who you are! Don’t spend your time being someone you are not. Find your group of friends that have similar beliefs and goals so you can be your true self. Congratulations Alex! You are going to accomplish great things!

Unfortunately my phone call this evening cut off to some of you at a bad time. I was in the middle of stating we have an employee that was tested for COVID-19 but the results are not back yet. The employee has been away from work beyond the 14 day quarantine period and none of the coworkers have any symptoms. Even if the test comes back positive it is highly unlikely it spread to others associated with the school. We will share more information when it is available.
