A big shoutout to all of our winter royalty for representing us so well, and a special thanks to our adorable kindergarten attendants, RaeLynn Reed and Lawson Oram — you two stole the show! This past weekend, Central Heights proudly sent 15 students to Manhattan to participate in the 32nd Annual Kansas State Honor Band Clinic. Upon arrival on Friday, students competed against 600 other musicians from 60 different schools for chair placement in one of six bands, including the prestigious Top Band. All of our students achieved excellent chair placements, with two of them, Russell Reed and Alyssa Welch, earning spots in the Top Band! Rehearsals began Friday evening for all bands, continued throughout the day and evening on Saturday, and concluded with a final rehearsal on the main stage Sunday morning. The weekend culminated in an incredible concert performance Sunday afternoon. In addition to their hard work, the students enjoyed some classic Manhattan experiences, including a visit to Call Hall for ice cream, doughnuts from the Varsity Food Truck, and a delicious supper at Nico’s Little Italy in Aggieville. The weekend was filled with building friendships, creating lasting memories, and enhancing their musical skills. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success! Participating Students: Russell Reed (Top Band), Alyssa Welch (Top Band), Riley Sprinkle, Paige Powell, Karley Davis, Alayna Fallis, Jenna Jumet, Arabella Dunbar, Hannah Matile, Benjamin Wuertz, Mathew Dunbar, Knox Cannady, Brooks Hamilton, Alyssa Powell, and Ebony Hughes

🎉🌟 Congratulations to Mr. Eric Reece! 🌟🎉 We are thrilled to share that our very own middle school science teacher, Mr. Eric Reece, has been recognized as one of the 32 state-wide WINNERS of the Kansas Horizon Teaching Award! 🏆 (He was nominated back in October) This prestigious honor, given to only a handful of 2nd year teachers, is a testament to Mr. Reece’s dedication, passion for teaching and learning, and the incredible impact he has on our students every day. His innovative approach to science education sparks curiosity and inspires young minds to reach for the stars. 🌌🔬 Thank you, Mr. Reece, for your commitment to excellence and for making a difference in our school community. We are so proud to have you as part of our team! 💙 Please join us in congratulating Mr. Reece on this well-deserved achievement! 👏👏 Continue to "keep your fork", Mr. Reece! 🍽

A huge congratulations to Senior Russell Reed and Freshman Benjamin Wuertz for auditioning and being selected for the 1234A All-State Band! These two outstanding musicians earned their coveted spots by competing against the top 1234A students across the entire state of Kansas during live auditions in Salina this past weekend. We are incredibly proud of all our students who dedicated themselves throughout the season to prepare for both District and State auditions. Russell Reed, 4th Chair Trombone (Two-time All-State Trombone) Benjamin Wuertz, 9th Chair Trumpet Russell and Ben will perform with the 1234A All-State Band on Saturday, March 1st, at 3:00 PM in the Century II Concert Hall in Wichita, KS. This is an extraordinary accomplishment! Please consider coming out to support them! Link to the entire 1234A All-State Band Roster https://ksmea.org/hsband/roster1234/

King and Queen of Courts Schedule Update We’ve made some changes to the schedule to ensure as many students as possible can participate in these special events: 👑 The Crowning Ceremony will take place Thursday during halftime of the boys’ basketball game against Anderson County instead of Friday’s game against Southeast Cherokee. Our pep rally has also been moved to Thursday. The Dance will still be held on Friday evening as planned. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility! 💙💛
