Mary Roehl is the daughter of Johnny and Rebecca Roehl. During her time here at Central Heights High School Mary participated in FBLA, FCCLA, FOR Club, NHS, Basketball, and Volleyball. Mary plans to attend Allen County Community College following graduation to finish her undergraduate requirements and then transfer to a university. Mary says that the most meaningful experience for her at Central Heights was growing into the person she has become. When asked what her advice would be to the underclassmen Mary said, “Relax and enjoy high school.” Congratulations Mary! We are so proud of all your accomplishments and we look forward to seeing what your future holds!
Brylon Ouellette is the son of Ed and Darla Ouellette. During his time here at Central Heights High School Brylon was a member of the Basketball team for 3 year and played Football for 4 years. Following graduation Brylon plans to enter the workforce to pursue a career as a small engine mechanic. Some of Brylon’s most memorable moments have happened on the football field. Brylon’s advice to the underclassmen would be, “School goes faster than you think.” Congratulations Brylon! We are proud of you and wish you all the best of luck for your future!
Luke Cotter is the son of Lorri and Floyd Cotter. During his time here at Central Heights High School Luke was a member of the Band, Cross Country Team, Drama, Key Club, Scholar’s Bowl, Student Council, Student Government, and Track & Field. Following graduation Luke plans to attend Wichita State University to study Aerospace Engineering. Luke has been recognized as a Kansas Honors Scholar, an ACT Scholar, and will serve as one of the three Valedictorians for the Class of 2021. Luke has also been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Wallace Scholarship. This selective scholarship at WSU awards Luke $28,500! Luke’s most meaningful experience at Central Heights has been winning State Cross County. It was a gratifying experience to see all the hard work pay off. When asked what his advice would be to the underclassmen, he responded with, “When you dig yourself into a hole, the first step to getting out of it is putting down the shovel.” Congratulations Luke! We are so proud of all of your accomplishments! We are excited to see what your future holds!
Hunter Bones is the son of Pepper and Brett Bones. During his time at Central Heights High School he was an active participant in Football, Basketball, Baseball, and FFA. Following graduation Hunter plans to enter the workforce or continue his HVAC certification through Neosho County Community College. Hunter’s most meaningful experience at Central Heights has been Hanging out with his friends. When asked what his advice to the underclassmen would be, Hunter said, “Stay on top of your work.” Congratulations Hunter! We are so proud of the person you have become! Best of luck to you!
Sarenitty Siefkas is the daughter of Shanna and Jimmy Siefkas. During her time here at Central Heights High School she participated in FCCLA, Volleyball, Swing Group, Honor Flight, and served as manager for the Wrestling, Track, and Cross County teams. Following graduation Sarenitty plans to attend college in Colorado to study psychology and obtain her masters. Following that she will go to med school to pursue a degree in psychiatry. Sarenitty’s most meaningful experience at Central Heights was going to Hays with her wrestling team during freshman year. Sarenitty’s advice to the underclassmen would be, “The better your grades are, the more opportunities you come across in your future. Grades may seem like they don’t matter right now, but in the end, they’re the most important part of starting your life! Especially if you plan to go to college and get big scholarships.” Congratulations Sarenitty! We are excited to see what your future holds! Good luck!
Mya Williams is the daughter of Tonya and David Williams. During her time at Central Heights High School she was actively involved in Robotics, STUCO, Key Club, Band, Softball, FFA, and Rachel’s Club. After graduation Mya plans to attend KU and major in Biology. Mya’s most meaningful experience in her time at Central Heights has been watching herself grow throughout all the challenges that have been thrown her way. Mya’s advice to the underclassmen would be, “Success is not measured by a number or a letter that a teacher gives you, but by the effort that is put into your work.” Congratulations Mya! We are very proud of your accomplishments and excited to see what your future holds!

The positive behavior reward event was a hit with our Pre-kindergarten students. Here are the instructions for washing the tye dyed socks:
Over the sink or tub, remove all rubber bands to reveal your creations! Rinse each item under warm water, rinsing out excess dye.
Be sure to wash items right after rinsing as colors can bleed into the white if they sit and will stain those areas. If you need to wait, it’s best to lay your item flat in the meantime so wet colors don’t run onto other parts of the fabric.
You want to wash each item individually or with other items dyed in similar color(s) with nothing else in the machine. Set load to normal, water to hot, and add a small amount of detergent and vinegar.
Dry items without a dryer sheet. Single items can stick to the wall of the dryer so if you have a tennis ball, you can throw it in with the item to ensure it dries all the way. (Wash your creations individually for the next wash or two to prevent remaining dye from staining other items.)

The Vikings are going back to the State Track & Field Meet! It feels incredible to say that again after having the 2020 season cancelled. All around, the team had a great day with personal bests in the Javelin, Shot Put and many more on the track. Qualifying first was the boys 4x800 relay. They were seeded 5th going in (top four qualify) and were a solid five seconds behind the closest team on paper so they knew they would have to improve, plain and simple. They picked a great time for their best performance on the track by setting a season best mark by 22 seconds and taking 3rd. It was incredible to watch and even better to see their joy after it was official. Taryn followed up with yet another stellar performance in the 100m hurdles to capture a Regional Runner up as well as a personal best. She followed that up by coming within 0.06 seconds of her best in the 300m hurdles to qualify in 3rd in a stacked race. Lily’s 800m was brilliant from start to finish. She had been working her way into some new events this season and she picked a great day to drop her 800m time by 10 seconds for a lifetime best 2:37 and a 2nd place finish. Wrapping up the day, Luke Cotter’s technical mastery of the 3200 worked in his favor once again by easily capturing a 4th place qualifying mark and picking up another PR in the process. With the end of the season a looming possibility today, the heart and determination these kids brought explains exactly why their season continues and will instead end on the biggest stage next weekend in Wichita.
