
Today our 6-9 graders spent the morning listening to nine speakers for Career Exploration Day. This is part of the Career Cluster Model to give Middle School students the opportunity to listen and ask questions about different careers.
The guest speakers were: Heathe Ball – Engineer; Cindi Dryden - Cosmetologist; Kenny Suffron - Suffron Glass; Todd Burroughs - Real Estate; Michael Clutter - Train Engineer; Calvin Pearson - Ottawa Cooperative/Farming; Gavin Holler - Jailer; Tyler Oestreicher - Masters Program and Jen Sharp - Pilot. Mr.Winkleman's class was given the task of making a bridge that spans 8 inches using the least amount of material. There were some interesting designs that were successful.

Ms. Weers’ class had to see who could construct the tallest structure using 20 pieces of spaghetti, a yard of yarn, a yard of tape, and a marshmallow. The tallest one was 20.5 inches!

Teams 3172 and 1108 invites Code Gold Robotics to the Semifinals. We proceed forward to a sudden-death match.

Code Gold Update: 5-4. Qualification matches are complete. Final ranking is 14th. The alliance selection in 10 minutes will determine if the team goes on to semifinals or are finished for the day. Viking Pride!
