Game Day Alert! Big night for the Central Heights girls basketball team as they continue their substate run! They’re hitting the road to Pittsburg, KS to take on St. Mary’s Colgan tonight. Let’s show them our support!
Good luck, Vikings—let’s get that win!

Something that we really promote at CHMS is student leadership, which is what you're about to witness in this post!
Our middle school leadership class created vision boards at the beginning of the semester, and on those vision boards was the theme of unity, community, and belonging in our middle school. No matter which grade a student is in, they wanted them to have a little family in our middle school made up of people that they may or may not have ever spoken to!
Enter in: Viking Villages! These Villages meet once per week and have different objectives each week, all curated by our leadership class! Since today was the maiden voyage for the villages, they did introductions and human bingo! Sure, there were awkward spots where people were having to interact with others that they don't know or rarely speak to, but isn't that the point?! What a fun opportunity for our students, and we are so thankful to all of our leaders (both adult and student) who made this happen!

Fourth grade read with preK for Read Across America week, so much fun!

It's Read Across America week! What is your favorite children's book? 📕 ❤️ 📖

Central Heights Students Shine at Kansas All-State Ensembles
This past weekend, three talented Central Heights students traveled to Wichita to rehearse and perform with the prestigious Kansas All-State Ensembles. Russell Reed and Benjamin Wuertz proudly represented Central Heights in the 1234A All-State Band under the direction of world-renowned composer Robert Sheldon. Charli Smith showcased her vocal talents as part of the 1-6A All-State Mixed Choir, under the direction of the amazing choral director, Shannon Jeffreys.
After two intense days of rehearsals, the students delivered outstanding performances on Saturday, making all their hard work and dedication worthwhile. Beyond the music, they formed new friendships and created lasting memories.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported these students throughout their journey. Their countless hours of preparation and commitment to excellence earned them a well-deserved place among the best in the state. Way to go, Russell, Benjamin, and Charli—you’ve made Central Heights proud!
