🎓 Let's give a big round of applause for Kennedy Thao, our next Senior Spotlight! 🎓
Kennedy is gearing up after graduation with his sights set on a career in Diagnostic Sonography. He will begin at Neosho County Community College, and then will further his education at KU.
Reflecting on his time at Central Heights, Kennedy's standout memory was as a freshman during football camp at Pomona Lake. Despite the less-than-ideal conditions (think hotdogs in the sweltering heat!), Kennedy finds humor in the experience now.
His advice to underclassmen? Simple but profound: Have fun.

Senior Spotlight Class of 2024: Abby Teegarden is gearing up for an exciting post-graduation adventure! After receiving her diploma, Abby plans to relocate to Arkansas to pursue her passion for horse training.

🎓 Senior Spotlight Class of 2024: Ridge Smith
Meet Ridge Smith, a remarkable Central Heights High School senior! Throughout his high school journey, Ridge has participated in many activities and organizations at Central Heights. From Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, National Society of High School Scholars, Scholars Bowl, FFA, Drama/Theatre Club, Yearbook, E-Sports Club, and Biology Club.
Ridge plans to attend either Washburn or KU for pre-med studies.
Among Ridge's many achievements, he's been awarded scholarships, including a $20,000 merit scholarship for both KU and Washburn and a Friends of the FFA Scholarship worth $1200.
Congratulations, Ridge! Your hard work and dedication are commendable, and we're excited to see where your journey takes you.

Last night we had a fantastic night of music at our middle and high school spring choir concert! 🎶 A huge shoutout to all the talented students who lit up the stage with their amazing voices. It was a joy to hear their award-winning performances live!

Senior Spotlight Class of 2024: Let’s shine the light on Alex Skeet! 🌟 While at Central Heights, Alex has been involved in Basketball, Cross Country, Track and Field, and E-sports.
Looking ahead, Alex is set to embark on a journey toward his passion for education, with plans to pursue a degree in education and become an elementary teacher.
And let's not forget to mention his favorite memory of being on the State Championship Cross Country team.
Reflecting on his time at Central Heights, Alex will remember all the fun that was had on school field trips.
Congratulations, Alex! Your journey is just beginning, and we couldn't be prouder of all you've achieved. 🎓

The Survivor challenge has closed - with the Class of 2024 not only emerging victorious in the challenge, but also overall for the year! They've earned themselves a food reward - coming soon!!
Overall, over a quarter of HS students participated in the final challenge - which does not include these elementary students who have been asking every day this week for their chance. Today was the day!




Principal of the day - Adrienne Downs- is helping with math!

Our Hunters safety class went to the Garnett shooting club and shot a .22 rifle. They then had the opportunity to shoot an AR. We then went and shot blue rock with a 20 and 12 gauge. Gun handling and safety was our main priority! We learned a lot today! Thank you to the Garnett shooting club, Mr. Meyer, and Mr. Vega for helping too! It was a Great day to be a Viking!










Join us for a beautiful night of music! The Middle School and High School Spring Vocal Concert is tonight! The Middle School Choir will start the evening off at 6:30 p.m. The High School will join the Middle School for a song around 6:55 PM, and the High School Choir will begin singing around 7:00 PM. Come out to hear our talented and award-winning musicians!

Senior Spotlight Class of 2024: Ethan Rowan has made his mark at Central Heights High School. While here, he has been involved in Basketball, Trapshooting, FFA, and Baseball.
His achievements include earning Welding Level 2 and OSHA 10 certifications and accolades for All-Area Basketball, All-League Basketball, All-League Baseball, and All-State Basketball.
Post-graduation, Ethan is set to pursue his passion for welding.
Reflecting on his time at Central Heights, Ethan treasures his basketball seasons the most.
To underclassmen, Ethan offers valuable advice: "Don’t take high school for granted. Take advantage of every opportunity that’s given to you and make the most of it."
