A few weeks before Spring Break, once again, our 8th-grade students had the incredible opportunity to work alongside and learn from the amazing clients at COF. This experience is so valuable because it teaches an important lesson—intelligence comes in many forms. Academic excellence is just one kind; skills, creativity, and unique perspectives are equally important, just like the characters in the short story "Flowers for Algernon", or perhaps even people that sit in the same lunchroom as us!
This visit was a powerful reminder to never judge a book by its cover—you never know who might teach you something new! Our students impressed every adult there with their thoughtful conversations and open hearts. We hope this experience broadened their perspectives, deepened their empathy, and sparked new opportunities for connection.
A huge thank you to COF for welcoming us once again! The hard work and the heart work are second to none!
